I've honestly really enjoyed the third trimester. I think it has been my favorite trimester so far. Maybe I have just gotten used to dealing with the symptoms, but I feel like it has been the easiest and I also have a serious bump now so that's fun!
Symptoms of the third trimester:
Baby movements: sometimes those rolls are actually painful now. he is strong!Heartburn: almost every night after dinner. even cheerios gave me heartburn the other day. ha!
Waddling: by the end of the day I feel like my body is two separate halves.
Insomnia: i can carry on a full conversation in the middle of the night and am completely awake every 1-2 hours without even a reason.
Skin: this past month or two suddenly i have no zits! my skin just weirdly cleared up. please never go away! this is an amazing pregnancy side effect!
Hair: I have always had oily hair, and can't go longer than maybe 2 days without washing. Weirdly these past few weeks I have hardly any oil.. I mean today is day 4 and nothing.. NOT normal for me!!! but a wonderful side effect that I would love to stay.
Weight gain: this has really slowed down in my third trimester, when I thought I would major puff and bloat! 22-26 pounds total.
Bending over: Brian did up my shoes for me the other day after watching my try for at least a full 2 minutes. Goodbye painted toenails!
Dreams: I have had a few labour and delivery dreams and each time labour is SO easy! haha. I'm up walking around within minutes and my clothes all fit me again. I can only dream!
I think pregnancy has been tougher in some ways than I thought, but at the same time so much easier than I ever thought. In general, I would say I am totally lucky and have had it so good. I'm still ready to be done, and I especially think this in the middle of the night when I can hardly roll over or get out of bed anymore. But really I just can't wait to meet this little boy! I will definitely miss some things about being pregnant though!
Miss about being pregnant:
-I love that everyone comments on my belly, and asks when I am due and what I am having. It's like have perfect small talk conversation all the time!-I'll miss Brian feeling the baby move in my stomach. Sometimes we just lay there in awe and watch my stomach move. Some nights Brian thinks it's awesome, and sometimes if he feels too much of a body part, he is totally weirded out. Is it an alien or baby?!
-I'll miss the baby being with me constantly and feeling him move.
-I'll miss how I get to be with the baby all the time and take care of his every need, and yet hardly have to do anything! And no crying!
Yes, those purple scrubs are proof I am still working. It is definitely getting harder to do those 12 hour shifts and I feel very ready to be done. I work next week, and then if I am still pregnant, I am hoping to work one day in June so I can keep insurance until the end of June. If I deliver in May, then my insurance terms end of May, and I will have to go back for 2 weeks after my maternity leave. I really don't want to do this since Brian and I will have moved to Salt Lake and then Brian will have to take off more time or we will have to figure out some kind of baby sitter for 2 weeks. So hopefully this little baby stays in until June!
We installed our car seat in our car, our stroller finally arrived, we bought a box of diapers, and my mom sent me a huge box of baby onesies so I guess that means we are ready... haha ya right! I am so nervous! Honestly, I don't feel even close to ready. Everything is just sitting in our spare room in the corner. Ah! Wish me luck!
