Bad news... with about 2 months left, we are still struggling in the names department. With Van Blerkom as a last name, we have to go pretty simple. But I like having the name Jennica and not having the same name as everyone else. Any suggestions that aren't a super common name, but still sound like a name and can't rhyme with anything, or be easily made fun of? Also can't bee too many syllables. Hahaha, no wonder we are having trouble... Brian hasn't set the easiest requirements. I girl I work with said there is a couple in her ward where the wife doesn't get any say.. the husband waits until the blessing and he is just inspired with the name. hahahahaha. Maybe we will just have to resort to pure inspiration. I bet Brian would love that idea.
Good news!!! I finally made my first baby purchase!!!!! This is monumental, because I swear no one has had to wait until the hit 30 weeks to buy their first baby item. Gap was having a 40% off sale and I told Brian I needed to look at maternity clothes and when the Gap in SLC didn't have a maternity section I convinced Brian to browse the baby section with me! It was way too much fun and made my entire weekend. Baby clothes are WAY more fun to buy than stupid maternity clothes.
I just can't believe these little clothes are going to be for MY baby. Can anyone else tell how excited I am?!?!?!
New symptoms brought by 3rd trimester:
- Bloody noses: I have had lots of these. Middle of the night, at work, and practically everytime I blow my nose. So annoying.
- Heart burn: This is the worst! Tums are my new bff.
- Weight gain: 24 pounds.
- Stretch marks: still none on my belly.. but there is plenty of time for that.
- Still so thirsty.. especially middle of the night. Sometimes I go through 2 water bottles!
- Nesting: This is real and I am starting to stress we don't have everything ready right this second! I cleaned all my bathroom drawers the other day which helped a bit.. but seriously where is my adorable painted perfect nursery!
- Shin splints: At least I think that is what these terrible pains are down the top of my Tibia.
- Swollen ankles/feet: I'm starting to notice my ankles getting a little bigger. In fact, my ankle strap sandals from last summer only now do up on the biggest hole rather than last summer on the smallest. hahahaaha.
I can see my little baby moving constantly in my stomach. I don't feel kicks as much anymore as I do rolls, or like pressure from an elbow or some limb just pushing out. They movements make my stomach look so lop-sided and funny looking. A few weeks ago I felt some hiccups for the first time. I think he gets them almost once a day. It feels like a slow steady pulse or heart beat about once every 3 or 4 seconds. So cute and strange but of course I love everything to do with this baby boy!
Don't mind my floral nightgown here, it was the best and most thoughtful Christmas present from Brian.. seriously comfortable and has no waistband! I took a video of my stomach moving a few weeks ago. Seriously, I never get tired of watching my belly move. Every time I'm like.. did anyone else see that?! At work, I want to show everyone and have everyone feel him move! I'm not sure if everyone shares my enthusiasm, but seriously it's like the best part of being pregnant.
I am starting to wear Brian's clothes more. Thank goodness for his closet! I'm seriously over this shopping while pregnant thing. I'm going to Florida with my family in 10 days and it will be in the 90s and humid! Any suggestions of what to wear while 33 weeks pregnant and walking around Disneyworld all day? Wish me luck!!!
